Plan to carry a roof top tent and you aren't sure it's as sturdy and safe as you want it to be? Get an extra crossbar and quickly add it over the rack, to make sure the tent is sitting over more of these crossbars.
Or if you're a bit tired and don't want to climb onto the rack to remove an accessory, just remove the crossbars (slats) from the side of the rack altogether. You can then lift the specific slat and in less than 5 minutes, without climbing anywhere, you're good to go.
