Really Easy To Install
Is the Prinsu Tacoma rack easy to install? Yes. That's the short and only answer. This roof rack is simple & straightforward to install, it doesn't require any drilling, it can be done at home by yourself or with the help of someone else. It comes with all the needed hardware to install it yourself.
The rack bolts onto the OEM existing factory roof mounting points, being one of the easiest mods to do. Since it's fully modular, you can begin by bolting the side plates to the roof, and then adding the crossbars and wind deflector. Another advantage of it being modular, is that you don't need to move around large, bulky and heavy parts. You can install one side plate, then another, and one crossbar at a time, making it simple, effortless and avoiding any heavy lifting.
- Does it include all the necessary hardware? Yes, it has all the hardware you need to mount it yourself.
- How long does it take to install it on your own? Between 30 to 50 minutes. Some people do it in less than 30 minutes.
- Does it include an installation manual? We send you one via email (or you can find it here or scrolling down). You can also watch the installation video above.
Made In USA With A Solid Track Record
Where else do you find a rack with all the parts made in America, with a solid track record of thousands of customers and years of innovation and experience, at an affordable price? It's almost too good to be true, but it is true. Browse around, read reviews or information, this is the rack you need over your Tacoma.
The rack itself is made of high grade 2 laser aluminum side rails with a 3/16” thick 5052 aluminum plate, more than enough for a solid off road performance. The thickness of the plate can handle the weight of heavy cargo even with the vibration caused by off road trails. Built tough. Each rail has 3 mounting tabs that allow you to easily bolt the rack into the 5 factory mounting holes on each side of the roof of your Tacoma, ensuring a quick and drill free installation.
When it comes to the slats or crossbars, each one is made of a 2” x 1” aluminum extrusion with a two t-slot channels at the top and bottom of the slat, and one more t-slot channel on the other two sides. This allows you to have a wide range of tie-down solutions for a safer transportation of any type of gear, cargo or accessories. The rack also includes a 1/8” 5052 aluminum plate wind deflector.
The whole roof rack comes powder coated in black, and all the hardware (bolts, screws, etc) comes in a black zinc finish to match the look of rack. A sleek off-road looking rack to upgrade not just the capabilities of your Taco, but the looks of it.
An Impressive 1,000 Lbs Weight Capacity
This Prinsu Tacoma roof rack has a dynamic weight capacity of 600 lbs, that's when the vehicle is in motion. It also has a static weight capacity of 1000 lbs, that is when your vehicle is parked.
Needless to say, such a high load rating allows you to carry any item that you can imagine over this cab rack. Whether that's a roof top tent, a cargo box, RotoPax, Maxtrax, fishing equipment or other gear, the rack can handle it. 1000 lbs of load rating is one of the safest capacities in the market and it can really handle almost everything. As a rule of thumb, try to keep the weight of the cargo on the rack the same or below its load rating.
Since it is completely modular, you can choose how you want it configured depending on the need, adding more slats or even taking some off. It comes with standard 6 cross bars (slats) for cargo. Keep in mind that with less slats, the weight capacity of the rack decreases, whilst with more slats it increases.
As a side note, this rack works both with sunroof and no sunroof configurations. If you have a sunroof, you can tilt it open with all the slats installed. If you want to fully open it, you can easily remove a few slats and still use the other slats to carry equipment. You can then just put back all the slats when you need to carry more or heavier gear.
Only 2" Tall | Reduces Wind Noise
This Tacoma Prinsu roof rack adds only 2" more of height, meaning you can still park in your garage or public parking spots. Or at least you can when you aren't carrying much gear over it.
When it comes to the wind when you're driving, this roof rack comes with a form-fitting wind deflector with an added noise-reducing trim which keeps both noise and wind resistance to a minimum. The wind deflector is a 1/8" 5052 aluminum plate, thus increasing the aerodynamics of your rig. The noise reducing trim is made of rubber and attaches directly to the wind deflector to fill the gap between your Taco's roof and the rack. This rubber trim is also designed to avoid impact with the vehicle, as well as withstanding all weather conditions.
As to weight, well the rack is only 38.5 lbs, being one of the lightest roof racks in the market. It won't add significant weight to your Tacoma, as well as having close to zero impact on your fuel consumption. Despite the lightweight features, this rack doesn't compromise strength, and remains one tough unit.
Can You Add A Light Bar? Yes
If you want to add a light bar to your rack, it's simple. Prinsu gives you the option of choosing the wind deflector with a built-in cutout for 40" to 42" wide lightbars. The deflector still acts quite well against wind resistance, and you can mount any brand of led light bar to it.
Cali Raised LED 42" light bars are offered in case you'd like to pair your Prinsu rack with an amazing and solid light bar. Make sure to select yours when choosing the product's variants. In case you'd like to read more about the light bars, here they are:
