Hot Water Anywhere. Anytime.
Kakadu Outback Shower. 4th generation. 16 lbs. One propane bottle. Four hours of hot water.
The Kakadu Outback Shower is a portable propane-powered hot water system that delivers instant hot showers anywhere you camp. Hook it up to a 1 lb propane bottle, drop the slimline pump into any water source, and push a button. The integrated lithium battery powers the pump and ignition. In seconds you have a hot shower with no external power required, no hoses to run to your vehicle, and no waiting for water to heat. This is the 4th generation of a product that has been on the market for over 15 years. Kakadu has refined this shower through four generations of real-world use and customer feedback.
The all-new version features an upgraded multi-mount shower head (hook, magnet, or suction), a slimmer pump (1.25" diameter) that fits into most jerry cans, a brighter display screen, and quick-connect fittings that snap on and off without tools. Whether you are camping, overlanding, washing dishes at basecamp, or rinsing off a dog after a hike, the Outback Shower weighs 16 lbs and packs into a 21" x 10" x 18" footprint. 3-year warranty.

Integrated Rechargeable Battery
No power? No worries. The Outback Shower runs on its own integrated LiPo lithium battery. The battery powers the water pump, ignition system, and display screen. No external power source, no cords to run to your vehicle, no generator. A full charge delivers 60-120 minutes of shower time. Recharge time is approximately 1 hour to 25%, 2 hours to 50%, and 4-5 hours from flat to full using the included DC charge cable. The unit is completely self-contained.

As Easy as 1, 2, 3
No tools, no dramas. Twist the propane canister on, drop the pump into a water source, and push the ignition button. Hot water in seconds. The quick-connect fittings snap on and off without tools. The pump hose (5'4") drops into a bucket, stream, lake, or jerry can. The shower hose (8'2") gives you reach to stand away from the unit. A 5-gallon bucket gives you approximately 10 minutes of continuous shower at the 0.5 gal/min flow rate. When you are done, disconnect, pack up, and go.

Expertly Engineered Shower Head
The upgraded multi-mount shower head adjusts, controls flow, and mounts three ways: by hook, magnetically, or with suction cup. Hang it from a tree branch, stick it to your vehicle panel, or suction it to a window. The flow is adjustable at the head so you can conserve water or open it up for a full rinse. This is a genuine shower head, not a garden hose nozzle. Engineered for comfort and control.

Multi-Purpose Use
Wash yourself, your dishes, or your four-legged mate. The Outback Shower is not just for personal hygiene. Use it to rinse off muddy gear, wash camp cookware with hot water, clean fish, rinse sandy feet, or give the dog a warm bath after a swim. The adjustable temperature dial on the front lets you set the heat from a minimum 15 degrees F lift above the water source temperature to a maximum 55 degrees F lift, with a max output of 122 degrees F. Hot enough to cut grease on dishes, gentle enough for a comfortable shower.

Portable and Lightweight
At 16 lbs and a setup footprint of just 17" x 7" x 15", the Outback Shower fits in the back of any vehicle, inside a cargo box, or strapped to a trailer. The packed dimensions (21" x 10" x 18") include the pump, hoses, and shower head. The patented design is only 7 inches wide, making it one of the slimmest portable hot water systems on the market. Easy to carry with the integrated top handle. Easy to store in tight spaces.

Tough as the Outback
Water, wind, and dust do not stand a chance. The unit is water resistant and built for rugged outdoor conditions. This is a 4th generation product from a company that has been building portable hot water systems since 2008. Every failure point from previous generations has been engineered out. The quick-connect locking fittings are leak-free (click on, click off). The auto shutoff safety system kills the flame if the unit detects unsafe conditions. Built to work reliably in the environments where you need it most.
More Features

Universal Mounting System
Mount the shower head magnetically to a vehicle panel, with suction to a window or smooth surface, or by hanging from a branch, rack rail, or hook. Three mounting methods mean you always have a hands-free option.

Slimline Pump
The pump is just 1.25 inches in diameter, designed to fit into any jerry can opening. Includes a stainless steel mesh filter so you do not need to worry about particles in the water source. Drop it into a bucket, stream, or jerry can.

Safety First
Auto shutoff kills the flame if the unit detects unsafe conditions. A propane-powered water heater outdoors demands reliable safety systems, and Kakadu has refined these over 15 years and 4 generations. Spare fuses are included in the box.

Custom-Designed Accessories
Upgrade your shower setup with Kakadu's custom-designed accessories. Larger propane adapters, extended hoses, mounting brackets, and other add-ons are available to expand the system for your specific setup.

Proven Performance
4th generation. Over 15 years on the market. This is not a first-generation product from a startup. Kakadu has been building the Outback Shower since 2008 and has refined it through four generations of customer feedback and field testing.

Exclusive & Distinctive Design
Patented, slim, and built to impress. Only 7 inches wide. The Outback Shower looks and feels like a premium piece of equipment, not a cobbled-together camp gadget. Designed in Australia, refined for global use.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Outback Shower work?
Hook it up to a 1 lb propane bottle (or a larger tank with an adapter), drop the pump into a water source (bucket, stream, jerry can), and push the ignition button. The built-in lithium battery powers the pump and ignition. In seconds, you have a hot shower anywhere, anytime. No external power source needed.
Can I adjust the water temperature?
Yes. Use the dial on the front of the unit. The minimum temperature lift above the water source is approximately 15 degrees F, and the maximum is 55 degrees F. Max output temperature is 122 degrees F. If your water source is 60 degrees F, you can get output up to 115 degrees F. If your water source is 70 degrees F, you reach the 122 degrees F max.
Does the pump have a filter?
Yes. The pump has a stainless steel mesh filter on it, so you do not need to worry about particles in the water. You can draw water from a bucket, jerry can, or natural water source like a stream or lake. The filter keeps debris out of the heating element and shower head.
How long does a 5-gallon bucket of water last?
At the 0.5 gallon per minute flow rate, a 5-gallon bucket provides approximately 10 minutes of continuous shower. That is enough for a full body wash, rinse, and shampoo for one person, or a quick rinse for two people. You can conserve water by adjusting the flow at the shower head.
Can I use a larger propane tank?
Yes. The unit is designed for 1 lb propane canisters, but you can connect a larger propane tank using an adapter (sold separately). A larger tank gives you significantly more run time beyond the 4 hours you get from a 1 lb canister. This is common for overlanders who run extended basecamps and want hot water for multiple days without swapping canisters.
