GOBI Ranger Roof Rack

GOBI is widely recognized for producing some of the most robust roof racks on the market. What makes them stand out in terms of durability and strength? GOBI racks feature precise welding and are finished with a durable black powder coat that effectively resists rust and withstands harsh conditions. Their screwless design ensures a smooth, quiet ride even when fully loaded.
The GOBI Ranger roof rack is particularly impressive, offering a static load capacity of 800 lbs and a dynamic weight capacity of 300 lbs, making it ideal for carrying gear, including rooftop tents. An optional bolt-on ladder provides easy access for attaching accessories.
Unlike typical platform racks that utilize crossbars, the GOBI Jeep JKU roof rack incorporates a versatile mesh platform that combines aesthetic appeal with functionality, allowing for straightforward gear attachment. Additionally, steel tubing around the platform's edge secures cargo during transport. Installation is hassle-free, requiring no drilling. This adaptable system includes two removable crossbars for rooftop tents and an integrated wind deflector to enhance aerodynamics and minimize noise at higher speeds.

GOBI Roof Rack Safety Guidelines
While GOBI roof racks are built tough and can easily support double the weight of the suggested load limits, it's important to remember there's an optimal weight limit to maintain the stability and safety of your vehicle both on-road and off-road.
WHY WEIGHT MATTERS:
- Vehicle Stability During Highway Swerving: Overloading can shift the vehicle’s center of gravity. In situations where a sudden swerve is necessary, an overloaded vehicle may become difficult to control, posing a higher risk of accidents.
- Handling in High Winds: A vehicle carrying excess weight, especially if not distributed evenly, is more vulnerable to strong winds. The added weight can make it challenging to steer correctly in gusty conditions.
- Maneuvering Curves on Highways: An overloaded vehicle may struggle to maintain its lane during curves. The extra weight can cause the vehicle to drift or respond sluggishly to steering.
OTHER CRITICAL FACTORS INFLUENCED BY THE WEIGHT INCLUDE:
- Breaking Efficiency: The heavier the vehicle, the longer it might take to come to a complete stop, increasing the risk of accidents.
- Suspension & Tire Wear: Excess weight can cause premature wear on your vehicle’s suspension and tires. This not only results in additional maintenance costs but can also compromise safety.
TIPS FOR SAFE LOADING:
- Distribute Weight Evenly: ensure that the weight on your rack is balanced on all sides to avoid tilting or pulling in one direction.
- Secure All Items: Always check that everything is tightly secured. Loose items can shift during driving, affecting stability or potentially becoming a hazard.
- Regularly Inspect Equipment: Before every adventure, inspect your rack and cargo for any signs of wear, damage, or potential issues. Promptly address any concerns.
- Adhere to Manufacturer’s Recommendations: Always refer to your vehicle’s owner manual for specific weight restrictions and recommendations. This ensures you’re not exceeding any limits set by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Adjust Driving Style: When carrying cargo, especially close to the weight limit, adapt your driving style. Drive slower, take turns with care, and increase your following distance.
