5 Inch or 8 Inch Brackets?
This is the main decision. Both heights carry the same 400 lb dynamic and 800 lb static rating and use identical crossbars and hardware. What changes is how much room you get underneath.
5" High Brackets
3.5" underside clearance. The lower, cleaner profile. Keeps overall vehicle height down for garage and parking structure access, and looks tighter to the truck. Best if you are mounting gear on top of the bars and do not need storage space between the bars and the cover.
8" High Brackets
6.5" underside clearance. Three extra inches of usable space beneath the bars. Best if you want to store gear between the tonneau cover and the crossbars, need extra clearance over a thicker cover, or want more room for a rooftop tent to sit above the cab line.

• F1, G2, and FiberMax covers: May require trimming to fit the brackets.

Do I need to drill anything?

Can I still use my truck bed?
