This is the brand new hybrid steel and aluminum front bumper bull bar model from Backwoods and as we already mentioned it is designed to fit all the 5th gen 4Runner models. It is called the Hi-Lite bull bar and it gets that name from its high-clearance design and ultra-lightweight construction.
Typical after-market front bumpers are usually made from either steel or aluminum and as you probably know, each has its set of pros and cons. That's why the people at Backwoods have decided to combine the best of both worlds and create a hybrid bull bar that will have both the strength of a steel bar and be lightweight and corrosion-resistant as the aluminum one.
This 4Runner front bumper has a full aluminum shell weighing 30lbs and a steel winch cradle that weighs 55lbs coming up at a total weight of just 85lbs! Speaking of winch cradles, this bull bar can fit winches of up to 12,000 lbs! On top of that this 4Runner front bumper is also TRD skid plate compatible which will give you even more frontal and underside protection.
It is easy to install and a single person can do it but we always recommend that if you have never installed a front bumper before that you leave it to the professionals. This bull bar has 2 D-Ring shackle mounts, 2 square light cutouts to fit most aftermarket pods, a flat top platform to add light bars, and a high clearance design that is excellent for greater approach angles.
