If you're after a rack that's easy to install, compatible with other after market accessories and reliable then the K9 rack kit by Eezi-Awn can easily be your best fit.
This excellent South-African made rack has 5 different lengths, as well as 2 mounting options, and will easily adapt to the needs of your Land Rover LR3 or LR4.
Due to the size and weight of this item, we will only ship within the continental U.S. using truck freight.
COMMERCIAL FREIGHT & FREIGHT CENTER SHIPPING ONLY:
Please note that free shipping only applies to delivery at a commercial address or your nearest freight center. No residential delivery.
The sizes and applications for the Land Rover LR3 and LR4 are quite broad.
There are two widths of platform that work on this vehicle. The LR3 and LR4 are narrower at the back of the roof than across the windshield.
The 1250mm (49") platform is as wide as the rear of the truck, and the 1400mm (55") platform is as wide as the front of the roof. Which is best for you is entirely up to you. Measure out both on your truck and see which fits your style.
This vehicle is also unique in that it has 2 mounting options. If your vehicle did not come with factory roof rack track, you would choose the standard style rack which includes the Eezi-Awn K9 mounting rail to mount to the rear roof section.
If your vehicle came with factory track on the top rear section, you can use our OEM Track Mount feet instead of the K9 Mounting rail.
The Standard version of the rack systems are the same as the traditional rack system on other vehicles.
It incorporates the K9 mounting rail on the top rear section, with feet attaching to the rail and the platform on top. This rack is available in 1.4M and 1.6M for the rear section. There is a 2.2M full length version that also uses specialty K9 rail/feet at the front of the roof on each side of the sunroof.
The OEM Track version of the rack systems mount feet directly to the OEM track and the platform on top.
This rack is available in 1.4M and 1.6M for the rear section. There is a 2.2M full length version that also uses specialty K9 rail/feet at the front of the roof on each side of the sunroof.
The OEM Extended Track version of the rack systems mount feet directly to the OEM track and the platform on top.
Extended track means the OEM track covers the upper rear section of the roof, and extends forward from there, terminating in the lower forward roof on each side of the sunroof. This rack system is available in 1.8M, and 2M lengths.
These versions of the rack measures 4" high at the upper rear section of the roof, and uses 40mm feet on the rear cross braces.
As with all roof racks, the weight capacity of the K9 roof rack system is broken into two measurements: static weight and dynamic weight.
Static is when the vehicle is stationary, not in motion. Dynamic is when the vehicle is in motion.
After running tests, it was determined that a dynamic capacity in the range of 500 pounds is possible. That load included a Roof Top Tent, awning, dual fuel can holder, aluminum storage case with recovery gear, shovel, axe, under mount table, light bar, etc on a 2.2M long rack.
A static capacity of 1000 pounds is possible. An example of static load increase would be adding people in the tent on the roof. Please understand these capacities are on vehicles that have modified suspensions designed to manage this amount of weight. They are not a warrantied or guaranteed capacity. Your load capacity will vary.
The K9 Roof Rack System for the Land Rover LR3/LR4 requires no drilling at all for any size rack. The proprietary mounting rail mounts right over the roof pinch weld trim and utilizes the OEM roof rack mounting points.
The components used on the Land Rover LR3 and LR4 rack systems include a pair of mounting rail (or utilize OEM track), a set of K9 feet (2 per platform cross brace), and a platform.
The Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack System comes with a complete array of bolt on accessories. Jerry Can holders, Axe mounts, Shovel mounts, Hi-Lift Mounts, Max Trax Mounts, Awning Mounts, Under Rack Table mounts, and much more.
The K9 Roof Rack is also the only overlanding rack on the market that is easily compatible with your existing Thule or Yakima sports bar mounts for bikes, kayaks, etc. With store-accessible 6mm hardware that attaches to the K9's perimeter, your hobbies won't become obsolete with your "old gear.
Installation of this rack system can be done by one person in approximately 1-1/2 hours. Please click HERE to download the instructions.
Help lifting the platform on the roof would be appreciated. You start by removing the factory roof rack, then attach the K9 mounting rail to the roof, followed by a full set of feet, and finally a platform on top.

Please inspect your package for damage prior to signing for it.
Off Road Tents takes pride in its products and packaging. Every tent that we ship out is properly classified, packaged, marked and labeled. Also each package is in the proper condition for transportation according to applicable regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation and/or international agencies.
Once your order is signed for at the delivery point, the package becomes your property and thus, our liability ends as far as shipping damage is concerned. Help protect yourself from loss or damage, or an uncomfortably painful claims process by:
1. Before Signing for your order, inspect the box or boxes for freight loss or damage. Red flags are punctures or any sign of forklift damage.
2. If any of the product(s) appear to be damaged or crushed do not accept delivery. Refuse the shipment and it will be sent back for processing.
3. It is extremely important that you inspect the box and tent (in case the item purchased is a tent) for damage BEFORE you sign to receive the tent. Please take photos of the box on the pallet exactly as it arrives.
Please note, the driver will not help with damage inspection. IF you even suspect there could be damage to your item, please take pictures of the damage and REFUSE the delivery. That way the carrier will send it back to us and we'll process a new shipment.
4. Get a copy of the signed delivery receipt that shows the freight loss or damage notation, and send it to us: firstname.lastname@example.org
5. Contact Off Road Tents immediately at 1.844.200.3979
If you accept a damaged delivery, and/or there is freight loss and/or the damage is not noted at the time of delivery, Off Road Tents cannot be held liable for any replacement costs related to the shipment. Protect yourself from this by examining before you sign. Refusing delivery when damaged helps Off Road Tents win the case against the carrier, and replacing your item.
