Nine extrusion crossbars at 48 inches each span a 95 inch by 48.5 inch platform, giving you more mounting positions than most racks in the category. Manufactured in Colorado with precision laser-cut 1/4" aluminum sideplates formed with CNC accuracy by Sherpa's team of professionals. They have created a very stout mounting structure, secured with stainless steel hardware, that will keep your gear where you need it. The 1/4 inch aircraft-grade aluminum is thicker than most competing racks, which is where the strength comes from without the weight penalty of steel.
Adaptable
Nine crossbars is a lot of mounting positions, and the Capitol's side profile uses larger slots with fewer fixed points than competing racks, which means more places to put things and fewer compromises about where. Bolt accessories directly into any of the nine black anodized extrusion crossbars, or strap gear to the integrated tie-down points built into the side plates. Two Details That Separate the Capitol
Direct Mounting: Sherpa's mounts bolt directly to the crossbar, which keeps the primary load path as short as possible. Shorter load path means large loads distribute more efficiently through the structure rather than concentrating stress at intermediate connections. It is the kind of engineering decision you never notice until a rack that did it badly starts creaking over washboard.
Adjustable Leveling Mounts: The Capitol includes two adjustable leveling mounts, which the earlier PEAK racks do not have. Roof lines are rarely perfectly flat, and these let you dial the rack level rather than accepting whatever angle the factory mounting points give you. A level rack matters for how a rooftop tent sits and for how evenly load spreads across the mounting brackets.

Which fairing should I choose?
Choose Full Height if you are not running a light bar. It has a taller smooth face that deflects the most air for the quietest ride. Choose Half Height if you want a single-row light bar to sit flush with the fairing line rather than proud of it. Both cost the same, so this is purely a build decision, though the SKU changes: 144844 for Full Height, 144744 for Half Height. If a light bar is anywhere in your future plans, Half Height saves buying a second fairing later.
What are the adjustable leveling mounts for?

Does this fit my 5th Gen 4Runner?
