Installation Notice
This rack requires headliner removal during installation. Six mounting brackets with rubber seals attach to the vehicle's roof structure. No drilling is required, but the headliner must come down to access the mounting points and route the brackets. If you are not comfortable removing your headliner, have a qualified shop handle the install. Detailed written instructions are included.

2nd Gen vs 3rd Gen Crosstrek: Which Do I Have?
The Cascade fits both generations. The 2nd generation Crosstrek covers model years 2018-2023. The 3rd generation covers 2024-2026. The rack dimensions differ slightly between generations: 69" x 46.5" for the 2G and 68" x 45.5" for the 3G. Sherpa builds the Cascade to fit both with generation-specific sideplate sizing. Can I mount a rooftop tent on the Cascade?
Yes, but with an important caveat. The Cascade has a 300 lb dynamic and 700 lb static load rating, which supports most rooftop tents. However, the Subaru Crosstrek has a lower factory roof load rating than trucks and full-size SUVs. Verify that the combined weight of the rack (~55 lbs), tent, and occupants does not exceed your Crosstrek's maximum roof load capacity. Does the Cascade require drilling?
No. The Cascade does not require drilling. However, it does require headliner removal to access the mounting points inside the roof. Six mounting brackets with rubber seals attach to the vehicle's roof structure from the inside. The rubber seals prevent water intrusion and protect the roof surface. Once installed, the headliner goes back in place. If you are not comfortable removing a headliner, have a qualified shop handle the install.
Which fairing should I choose?
If you do not have a light bar and do not plan to add one, choose the Full Fairing for maximum air deflection and reduced wind noise. If you run or plan to run a single-row light bar, choose the Half Fairing. It is a few inches shorter, leaving room for the light bar behind it. You can switch fairings later if your setup changes.
