Access Cab owners get overlooked. Most of the Tacoma aftermarket is built around the Double Cab, and racks that do exist are often Double Cab parts with a vague promise that they will probably work. The Teton is a Tacoma Access Cab roof rack sized specifically for the shorter cab, covering 2005 through 2023.
This Toyota Tacoma roof rack spans 50 inches with 6 extrusion crossbars and carries 300 lbs dynamic and 600 lbs static. At roughly 35 lbs it is the lightest rack in Sherpa's PEAK lineup, which suits a mid-size truck where payload is already spoken for. Construction is 1/4 inch aircraft-grade aluminum side panels with stainless steel hardware. Bolt into the crossbars or strap gear directly to the side plates. Teton or Grand Teton?
Sherpa makes a rack for each Tacoma cab. The names are similar enough to cause trouble, so here is the difference in one place.

The differences follow from the cab. A shorter roof means a shorter, lighter rack with fewer crossbars, and the Access Cab roof does not offer the factory mounting points that let the Grand Teton go drill-free. Order by your cab, not by the name.
Thirty-Five Pounds, the Lightest PEAK Rack
Weight is the quiet argument for this Tacoma Access Cab roof rack. At roughly 35 lbs it is the lightest rack in the PEAK lineup, and some of that is simply the shorter cab, but it matters more on a Tacoma than the number suggests.
These trucks have modest payload to begin with, and by the time you add a bumper, sliders, a bed rack, and gear, every pound you did not spend on the rack is a pound available for something else. A steel basket at 80 or 90 lbs eats that budget before you load anything.
How the Teton Installs
Most PEAK racks mount to factory hardpoints with no drilling. The Access Cab roof does not offer them, so the Teton uses four gutter rivet mounts instead, which means drilling and setting rivets.
Sherpa recommends professional installation, and we agree. Rivet placement, sealing, and torque all matter on a roof that needs to stay watertight for the life of the truck. This Is a Cab Rack
The Teton covers the cab roof and nothing else. It does not include a topper rack and it does not replace one. Sherpa builds a separate topper rack for the Tacoma if that is what you need, and plenty of builds run both.
The upside is that the bed stays completely free. A common Tacoma build puts a rooftop tent over the bed on a bed rack, where the longer platform suits it better, and uses the cab rack for an awning, traction boards, lighting, and the gear you want out of the bed. Does it require drilling?

A lighter one, but the platform is the real limit rather than the rating. 300 lbs dynamic and 600 lbs static would handle many tents, but at 50 inches this is a short cab rack and most tents will overhang noticeably. Will it fit my year?
The Teton covers 2005 through 2023 Access Cab trucks, spanning both the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma. It does not fit the 2024 and newer 4th Gen. If you are unsure whether your truck is an Access Cab or a Double Cab, the Access Cab has small rear-hinged half doors rather than four full doors.
Which fairing should I choose?
Choose Full Height if you are not running a light bar, since it deflects the most air for the quietest ride. Choose Half Height if you want a single-row light bar to sit flush with the fairing line. Both cost the same. Light bars are common on Tacoma builds, so if one is anywhere in your plans, Half Height saves buying a second fairing later.
