The EXR3812 Camper Roof Rack Crossbar Package is a No-Drilling, roof top tent–ready, heavy-duty crossbar rack system designed specifically for Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU and Jeep Gladiator JT vehicles equipped with a factory hard top (2018–present). Built around three full-length EXR crossbars, the EXR3812 delivers the same materials, strength, and core engineering as higher-capacity EXR systems in a more streamlined, cost-conscious configuration.

Designed for users running smaller rooftop tents or lighter overland setups, the EXR3812 provides balanced load distribution, long-term durability, and modular flexibility—without drilling or permanent vehicle modification. This system is optimized for two-person rooftop tents while remaining highly versatile for everyday roof-mounted gear when the tent is removed.

Purpose-Built for Lightweight Rooftop Tent Setups

The EXR3812 is engineered for applications where efficient load support and smart weight management matter. While it uses the same heavy-duty crossbars and brackets as other EXR systems, this package utilizes one fewer bracket set.

In this configuration, the center crossbar mounts directly to the rooftop tent using the tent manufacturer’s hardware. All three crossbars - including the tent-mounted center bar - utilize EXR’s weight distribution feet to help spread loads across the roof structure while maintaining a lighter, more economical system layout.

Dual-Mode Configuration: With or Without a Rooftop Tent

When a rooftop tent is installed, the EXR3812 functions as a three-crossbar system optimized for lighter tent applications. When the tent is removed, the center crossbar comes off with it—leaving two roof-mounted crossbars in place.

In this two-crossbar configuration, the system behaves similarly to a traditional two-bar roof rack, while still benefiting from EXR’s weight distribution support feet. This setup works exceptionally well for kayaks, cargo boxes, bike carriers, storage bins, and other everyday or weekend gear. The system also remains compatible with roof-mounted awnings.

Accessory-Ready Compatibility

All EXR3812 variants use standard-size crossbars compatible with the majority of aftermarket roof-mounted accessories, including kayak carriers, cargo baskets, roof boxes, bike mounts, storage systems, and utility accessories from leading manufacturers.

Select variants also feature EXR’s click-in crossbar profile, allowing integration with EXR click-in accessories while retaining full compatibility with traditional clamp-style mounts.

Construction & Materials

EXR crossbars, brackets, and mounting components used in the EXR3812 are constructed from the same heavy-duty materials as other EXR camper rack systems and are finished for corrosion resistance. The primary difference in this package is the use of a more price-friendly version of EXR’s weight distribution feet, which do not pivot or contour to the roof surface.

This approach preserves strength and durability while offering a more accessible entry point for users with lighter rooftop tent requirements.
