The EXR9611 Heavy-Duty Awning Bracket Set is a robust, overland-grade mounting solution engineered to support everything from compact awnings to full-size 270-degree wraparound awnings. Designed for daily use and serious expedition and off-road use, the EXR9611 provides exceptional strength, adjustability, and compatibility across a wide range of roof rack configurations.
Unlike lightweight clamp-style awning mounts, the EXR9611 attaches directly to EXR crossbars using the same heavy-duty structural bolt attachment points used to secure the crossbars to the vehicle mounting brackets. This creates a rigid, load-capable connection designed to handle the leverage and dynamic forces generated by large awnings during travel and deployment.
Designed for Large & 270° Awnings
The EXR9611 is purpose-built for high-load applications, including oversized and wraparound 270-degree awnings that place significant torsional and cantilevered loads on mounting hardware. The bracket’s structure and mounting interface distribute these forces directly into the crossbars, allowing a single bracket set to safely support small, medium, and extra-large awnings when used on an appropriately rated EXR roof rack system.
This makes the EXR9611 an ideal solution for overland builds where reliability, stiffness, and long-term durability matter.
Inboard / Outboard Adjustability (Up to 4.5")
The EXR9611 allows the awning to be positioned inboard or outboard by up to 4.5 inches, giving users control over both appearance and functional clearance.
- Inboard positioning brings the awning closer to the vehicle body for a tighter fit, reduced wind interference, and a cleaner overall profile.
- Outboard positioning provides additional clearance for rooftop tents, kayak carriers, baskets, or other roof-mounted gear.
This flexibility allows the awning location to be optimized based on vehicle shape, roof height, accessory layout, and personal preference.
Universal Awning Compatibility
Each EXR9611 bracket features an extended mounting plate with a combination of fixed hole positions and slotted channels, allowing it to adapt to nearly any awning mounting pattern on the market. This design is especially useful for large and oversized awnings that require wider mounting footprints or non-standard bolt spacing.
The bracket set is compatible with most popular awning brands, including large wraparound models that extend along the side and rear of the vehicle.
Reversible Orientation for Fit & Clearance
When mounted to the crossbars, the EXR9611 brackets can be installed in either orientation:
- Tall side up for increased headroom and clearance beneath the deployed awning.
- Tall side down to closely follow the curvature and body lines of modern vehicles, creating a lower-profile and more integrated appearance when the awning is stowed.
Users can choose the orientation that best matches their vehicle, roof rack height, awning design, and aesthetic preferences. Micro adjustments are also available when attaching the awning to the bracket itself.
Construction & Load Considerations
The EXR9611 is constructed from heavy-duty materials designed to withstand continuous outdoor exposure, vibration, and off-road use. EXR roof rack systems are engineered to support overlanding and heavy-duty accessories, and the EXR9611 is designed to match that capability.
For builds where one side of the roof rack carries an unusually heavy or unbalanced load, users may choose to add EXR patented weight distribution support feet or rack systems to further reinforce the factory roof rail structure and increase overall confidence.
