The EXR6441 Soft Top Roof Rack Crossbar Package is a No-Drilling, heavy-duty crossbar rack system designed specifically for the Jeep Wrangler JLU (4-door, 2018–present) equipped with a factory soft top. Built around two full-length EXR crossbars, the EXR6441 provides a reinforced, modular platform capable of supporting serious overlanding gear and large rooftop tents while preserving full soft top functionality.

Unlike traditional roof racks that restrict soft top operation, the EXR6441 is engineered and patented so that the crossbars remain installed and functional when the soft top is down, and the soft top can be fully raised and closed over the installed crossbars when needed. This design allows users to move seamlessly between open-air driving, daily use, and fully equipped camping or weekend setups—without permanent vehicle modification.

Purpose-Built for Soft Top & No-Top Applications

The EXR6441 is designed specifically for Jeep JLU soft top vehicles where both load capacity and roof flexibility matter. In soft top and no-top configurations, the system provides reinforced load paths that allow it to support large rooftop tents and heavy overlanding equipment using a streamlined two-crossbar layout.

This makes the EXR6441 a true high-capacity solution for soft top owners who want rooftop tent, kayaks, bikes, or other gear capability without committing to a permanent hard top or a full-length platform rack.

Rooftop Tent Compatibility & Quick Disconnect Convenience

When configured for soft top or no-top use, the EXR6441 is rated to support rooftop tents up to a 5-person RTT. For added convenience, the system is fully compatible with EXR’s quick disconnect tent brackets (EXR1601 and EXR1602), allowing compatible tents to be installed or removed quickly using a simple push-pin mechanism. EXR Kayak carriers, Basket, and other accessories all use the same push-pin attachments (EXR5181 and EXR8891).

This quick disconnect functionality is especially valuable on soft top vehicles, enabling tents to be clicked in and out efficiently while maintaining the ability to raise or lower the soft top as needed.

Accessory-Ready Compatibility & Click-In Flexibility

All EXR6441 variants use standard-size crossbars compatible with the majority of aftermarket roof-mounted accessories, including kayak carriers, cargo baskets, roof boxes, bike mounts, recovery gear, and awnings.

Select variants feature EXR’s click-in crossbar profile, which is particularly advantageous for soft top use. Compatible accessories such as kayak carriers, kayak baskets, rooftop tent adapter brackets, storage bin adapter brackets, rod holders, and paddle holders can be quickly installed or removed using a push-pin design—making it easy to reconfigure the rack without tools.

Construction & Materials

EXR crossbars and mounting components used in the EXR6441 are constructed from corrosion-resistant, heavy-duty materials designed for continuous outdoor exposure and sustained load. The system is engineered to deliver high strength and stability while maintaining a clean, modular footprint.

This balance of strength and simplicity makes the EXR6441 suitable for both daily driving and extended overland travel.

Convertible Roof Configurations

The EXR6441 is designed to adapt as your vehicle’s roof configuration changes. Using EXR conversion kits, the system can be configured for:

Factory soft top configurations (standard)
No-top configurations (with EXR spacer kit)
Factory hard top configurations (with EXR conversion kit)

When converted to a hard top configuration, the EXR6441 functions as a general-purpose utility rack and is not rated for rooftop tent installation in that configuration.

Static load rating: Supported up to a 5-person RTT in soft-top and no-top configurations only. Not supported when converted to a hard top configuration.
