44% Stronger. 27.7 Sq Ft of Platform. The Next Level.
Prinsu Pro for 2020+ Toyota Highlander. Redesigned crossbars. 6 drop-in points per bar. Stainless steel hardware.
The Prinsu Pro Roof Rack for the 2020+ Toyota Highlander (4th Generation) takes everything that made the Original Prinsu rack an industry standard and pushes it further. Redesigned crossbars are 44% stronger than previous generations. Six integrated drop-in points per crossbar make securing gear faster and easier than ever. A two-part side rail design with a reinforced bend and recessed bolt-on mounting feet maximizes rigidity for unparalleled confidence on and off the road. Corrosion-resistant stainless steel hardware protects your investment for years in any environment.
The result is 27.7 square feet of usable platform area that adds only 2.4 inches to your vehicle's height. Whether you are hauling a rooftop tent, recovery gear, bikes, kayaks, or cargo boxes, the Prinsu Pro is a fully modular platform that configures to your exact needs and reconfigures anytime those needs change. Premium powder-coated aluminum construction keeps the weight low and the corrosion resistance high.
Installation Requirements
Drilling Required: This install requires enlarging two factory holes to 3/8". Partial Headliner Drop: A partial drop of the headliner is necessary to remove the OEM roof rail mounts. If you are not comfortable with drilling and headliner work, have a qualified shop handle the installation.

Redesigned Crossbars: 44% Stronger
The standout upgrade on the Prinsu Pro is the crossbar redesign. These are not the same crossbars from the Original rack. They are 44% stronger with an all-new profile engineered for heavier loads and more demanding use. Each crossbar features 6 integrated drop-in points that let you secure gear quickly without fumbling with T-slot hardware. Strap down camping gear, kayaks, bikes, traction boards, or recovery equipment in seconds. The drop-in points work alongside the full-length T-slot channels, so you still have unlimited accessory mounting flexibility across the entire rack.

Two-Part Side Rail. Reinforced Bend.
The Prinsu Pro features a two-part side rail design with a reinforced bend that maximizes rigidity. Recessed bolt-on mounting feet keep the profile low and the look clean. The rack follows the exact contour of your Highlander's roofline, sitting closer to the roof than traditional basket-style racks. This form-fitting approach reduces wind noise and drag while maximizing the 27.7 square feet of usable platform area. All hardware is corrosion-resistant stainless steel, an upgrade from the standard hardware used on the Original series.
More Features
Premium Aluminum Construction: Powder-coated aluminum delivers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Aluminum naturally resists rust, making it ideal for coastal, snowy, and muddy environments. The UV-resistant powder coat finish protects against scratches and the elements.
Fully Modular: Not every adventure is the same. Slide crossbars forward or backward to accommodate specific gear layouts. Bolt accessories into the T-slots or drop-in points anywhere on the rack without drilling new holes. Reconfigure your setup from weekend to weekend as your gear needs change.
Wind Deflector Options: Choose the standard wind deflector for maximum noise reduction, or the cutout version for flush-mounting a front-facing LED light bar. Both options include noise-reducing trim for a quiet ride at highway speed.
Low-Profile Design: Adding only 2.4 inches to your vehicle's height means garage doors, parking garages, and low-hanging branches are not a concern. The Prinsu Pro maintains the Highlander's sleek, purposeful appearance.
Prinsu Pro vs Prinsu Original: What's Different?
| Prinsu Pro (2020+) | Prinsu Original (2014-2019) | |
| Vehicle | 4th Gen Highlander (2020+) | 3rd Gen Highlander (2014-2019) |
| Crossbar Strength | 44% stronger (redesigned) | Standard |
| Drop-In Points | 6 per crossbar | Standard T-slot only |
| Side Rail Design | Two-part with reinforced bend | Standard |
| Hardware | Stainless steel (corrosion-resistant) | Standard |
| Added Height | 2.4" | 2.6" |
| Usable Area | 27.7 sq ft | Not published |
| Installation | Drilling (enlarge 2 holes) + partial headliner drop | No drilling, factory mount points |
The Pro is the next generation of Prinsu engineering. Stronger crossbars, more mounting points, better hardware, lower profile, and more usable platform area. The tradeoff is the installation: the Pro requires enlarging two factory holes and a partial headliner drop, while the Original bolts to factory mounting points with no drilling. If you have a 2020+ Highlander, the Pro is your only option (the Original does not fit 4th Gen models).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount a rooftop tent on the Prinsu Pro?
Yes. The 44% stronger crossbars and reinforced two-part side rail make the Pro well-suited for rooftop tent mounting. Verify that the combined weight of the rack, tent, and occupants does not exceed your Highlander's factory roof load capacity. The 27.7 sq ft platform provides ample room for full-size rooftop tents. Lighter hardshell and wedge-style tents are the best fit for the Highlander platform. Browse our rooftop tent collection here.
What drilling is required?
The install requires enlarging two existing factory holes to 3/8". You are not drilling new holes from scratch. You are widening holes that Toyota already put in the roof during manufacturing. A partial headliner drop is also necessary to remove the OEM roof rail mounts. If you are comfortable with a drill and basic interior trim removal, this is a manageable DIY job. If not, budget for professional installation at a local shop.
What are the drop-in points?
Each crossbar has 6 integrated drop-in points built into the bar profile. These are pre-cut slots that accept standard tie-down hardware, straps, or accessories without needing to slide them into the T-slot channel from the end. You drop accessories straight in from above, position them where you want, and lock them down. This makes securing and repositioning gear significantly faster than traditional T-slot-only systems. The T-slot channels are still there for unlimited additional mounting flexibility.
Does this rack fit the 2014-2019 Highlander?
No. The Prinsu Pro is designed specifically for the 2020+ Toyota Highlander (4th Generation). It does not fit the 2014-2019 3rd Gen model, which has a different roofline, mounting points, and dimensions. For the older Highlander, see the Prinsu Original Highlander Rack.
Standard or cutout wind deflector?
Choose the standard wind deflector if you do not plan to run a front-facing LED light bar. It provides maximum noise reduction and airflow management. Choose the cutout version if you want to flush-mount an LED light bar into the front of the rack for an integrated, clean look. Both options include noise-reducing trim.
