A camper shell gives you dry, lockable storage and takes away the one thing a truck bed was good for: throwing bulky stuff on top of. Boards, boxes, a kayak, anything long. The shell is right there, flat and empty, and most people end up strapping things to a bare fiberglass roof and hoping.
The Sherpa Crow's Nest Sport is a truck topper rack built for exactly that space. It is all-aluminum, comes in 52 inch (5 foot bed) or 64 inch (6 foot bed) lengths with 5 or 6 crossbars, carries 150 lbs dynamic and 300 lbs static, and weighs about 35 lbs. It is drill-free and requires zero modification to your vehicle, and its adjustable feet take up both height and contour variation so it sits properly on whatever shell you run. Made in Colorado. Built to Pair With the Grand Teton Sport
Sherpa designed this rack to match the Grand Teton Sport cab rack, and if you are running one that is the obvious reason to choose the Sport version here.
It is not just about looks, though a matched pair does look considerably better than two racks from different lines sitting one behind the other. The Sport racks share side plate styling and profile, so the line from cab to topper reads as one system rather than two parts that happened to end up on the same truck.
That said, it works perfectly well as a standalone rack for other mid-size trucks. You do not need a Sherpa cab rack for this to make sense.
Adjustable Feet Do the Hard Work
Toppers are not standardised. Height, roof curvature and track placement all vary between manufacturers and models, which is why a lot of truck cap roof rack designs only fit a handful of shells.
Height Adjustment
Set how far the rack sits above the shell, so it clears roof curvature without sitting proud.
Contour Adjustment
Takes up the roof's curve so the feet sit flat on the surface rather than loading one edge.
Broad Fitment
Between the two, the rack suits a wide range of toppers and camper shells rather than a short list.
The Track System You Need First
This is the part that catches people out, so it is worth being clear.
The Crow's Nest Sport mounts to a track system on your topper, and it needs 8 track nuts to do it. Neither the track system nor the track nuts come with the rack.
Any truck cap roof rack of this type depends on that track. Some toppers ship with tracks from the factory. Many do not, and some have tracks in a spacing that will not work. The rack being drill-free depends entirely on having a track system already there to bolt to.

About the Load Rating
The rack is rated to 150 lbs dynamic and 300 lbs static, but on a topper rack there is a second number that matters more.
Your topper manufacturer's roof load rating is the real limit. A fiberglass or composite shell has its own maximum, and it is frequently lower than what the rack itself can take. The rack cannot make a shell stronger than it is.
