Can I run a wood stove inside?
Yes. The Hub 4 Double has a 3 inch integrated ceiling port designed for a wood burner or cooking stove. A tent with stove jack capability is only as good as the shelter around it, and this one is a genuine hot tent rather than a tent with a hole cut in it. The Tri-Layer insulated walls are what make it work, since a stove jack in an uninsulated shelter just vents your heat out the roof. Follow your stove manufacturer's clearance and safe operation guidance, and never leave a burner unattended while sleeping.
How many people does it actually sleep?
FSR rates it for 4 to 8. The realistic answer depends on your setup. As an 8 person tent with people sleeping on pads directly on the floor, 72 square feet works. For cot-based sleeping, which is what the rectangular layout is designed around, four to six is more comfortable: two rows of cots along the long walls with gear between them and a clear center aisle. If the tent is doubling as your camp kitchen and gathering space, plan for the lower end.
Hub 4 Double or Hub 4XL?
Footprint shape. The 4XL is square. The 4 Double is a 72 by 144 inch rectangle. They share the same Tri-Layer walls, pull-tab deployment, and 3 inch stove jack. Choose the Double if you are running cots, since two rows fit along the long walls with a clear aisle between them, or if the shelter doubles as a camp kitchen. Choose the square 4XL if your campsites are tight and a 12-foot length would be hard to place.
How hard is it to set up?
Release four pull tabs and the hub structure opens, then the integrated front door drops into position. The only separate assembly is three poles supporting the door frame. There is no conventional pole threading, which is what makes a shelter this size practical as a pop up camping tent rather than a project. Guyline and stakes are included for securing it in wind.
Can I take the floor out?
