Having a good and reliable suspension system is a crucial part of any vehicle let alone an off-road vehicle. It can help your car move better across rocky terrain without damaging it. That's why we are happy to introduce the Icon suspension system designed to fit the Tacoma models.

The Icon 3rd Gen Tacoma suspension kit was constructed out of durable CNC machined 6061 aircraft grade aluminum and has a corrosion-resistant CAD plated coilover shock body with 7/8" shaft. This is also a bolt-on system meaning that no cutting or welding is needed for the installation.

The suspension systems for the 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma were created with optimal performance in mind. ICON engineers' main priority during the creation of these systems has been to maximize wheel travel and damping capacity, which translates into exceptional vehicle handling and ride quality both on and off-road. With the addition of rear suspension parts including an ICON RXT multi-rate leaf spring and a special RXT-specific 2.5 Series shock, this Stage 9 system goes one step further in bringing ICON performance to the Tacoma.

ICON's CDC (Compression Damping Control) Valve-equipped 2.5 Series Extended Travel coilover shocks calibrated specifically for each vehicle are a part of the Stage 9 system. Across all types of terrain and vehicle cargo combinations, the simple-to-adjust CDC Valve enables end-user compression modifications to deliver the best ride quality.

Additionally, the coilovers have a remote reservoir for exceptional cooling, ICON-engineered Eibach coil springs for superior vehicle "feel" throughout the range of travel, and are height-adjustable from 0 to 3.5 inches for models made from 2005 to 2015 or from 0 to 2.75 inches for models made from 2016 and up. This flexibility enables the use of bigger, more aggressive wheel and tire combinations.

These extended travel coilovers improve the front suspension's droop travel when used with the supplied ICON upper control arm. The ICON RXT multi-rate leaf springs are installed to the rear of the truck to improve ride quality and add more droop travel.

This leaf spring is ideal for drivers seeking improved rear ride quality in a "unloaded" vehicle as well as those who have outfitted their trucks with a significant amount of weight in the form of a bed rack, roof top tent, spare tires, parts, or other additions. It is designed with an additional leaf (included with kit) that can be exchanged or added to the pack to yield an additional 10–20% spring rate.

The Stage 9 system comes with a special 2.5 Aluminum Series CDC remote reservoir shock to go along with this increase in rear wheel travel. This shock has a side-mount eyelet, which makes it shorter when collapsed and longer when extended while still fitting in the factory mounting location.

In addition, this shock is equipped with ICON's CDC technology for easy compression adjustment, and a sizable ten-inch remote reservoir was added to help with heat dissipation and prevent shock fade when driving aggressively.

Upper control arms with the proprietary ICON Delta Joint are a component of this system. The Delta Joint is a heavy-duty, high-angle ball joint that combines typical uniball performance with the durability of a ball joint. Although the industry standard uniball performs a superb job of allowing a vehicle's control arms to articulate with little bind, it does have a built-in flaw that leaves more to be desired when employed in a daily driven application: exposure to the environment.

The Delta Joint has a zinc-plated housing that offers the first line of defense against corrosion, and a robust grease seal keeps potentially dangerous materials out of the joint's interior workings. The Delta Joint's durability is increased by its metal on metal construction and greaseable design, both of which enable noiseless operation. The Delta Joint is special because it gives ICON upper control arms the best of both worlds thanks to qualities that make it more durable than a uniball and, at the same time, capable of greater angularity than a normal ball joint.

Upper Control Arm

Whenever you are changing your vehicle's geometry and upgrading it with a suspension kit, especially on 4WD vehicles, you absolutely need an upper control arm. The UCA is there to correct alignment and inherent clearance issues that arise when you lift or modify the suspension of your 4WD. Upper control arms can be found on independent front suspension (IFS) vehicles and they connect the top of the spindle to the frame.

The UCA is not a load-bearing piece of an IFS suspension, however, it does serve the purpose of guiding your spindle in a pre-determined motion when your suspension cycles up or down. Said load is handled by the lower control arm, which connects to the lower portion of the spindle.
