The 6th gen 4Runner has two things hanging underneath that you really do not want damaged: the transmission and the catalytic converters. One gets hit by rocks on the trail. The other gets cut off by thieves in car parks. This plate deals with both.
Cali Raised LED's 2025 4Runner catalytic converter shield and transmission skid plate covers the transmission and puts a physical barrier around the catalytic converter area. It comes in 3/16" steel or 1/4" 5052 aircraft-grade aluminum, laser-cut and CNC-formed, finished in semi-gloss black powder coat, and bolts to factory mounting points with no drilling or welding. It works with the OEM TRD skid plate, with Cali Raised's other skids, and with most aftermarket lifts.
A 4Runner Catalytic Converter Shield and Skid Plate in One
Most people buy these as two separate parts. On the 2025+ 4Runner, Cali Raised combine them into a single plate.

What a 4Runner Cat Shield Can and Cannot Do
We would rather be honest. No shield makes a catalytic converter impossible to steal. What a plate does is turn a fast theft into a slow, noisy one, and most thieves move on to an easier vehicle. One thing worth knowing: the kit uses standard hardware, and its parts list does not include tamper-resistant security bolts. The protection comes from the steel or aluminum plate itself, not from locking hardware.
Hybrid or Non-Hybrid?
The 2025+ 4Runner comes with a standard powertrain or Toyota's hybrid, and the underside is different enough that Cali Raised make two versions. The hybrid plate is 7 inches longer. Hardware and installation steps are the same for both.

Installation
Cali Raised estimate 45 to 90 minutes for this 2025 4Runner skid plate. It bolts to factory mounting points with no drilling or welding, and two carriage bolts through the crossmember secure the back end.
Tools You Supply
- Ratcheting wrench
- 12 mm and 13 mm sockets
- 7/32 Allen key
- 9/16 box-end wrench
The Short Version
- Let the exhaust cool completely and support the truck on jack stands on level ground.
- Remove any plastic underbody guard if your 4Runner has one.
- Find the overlap edge. The plate overlaps and sits on top of the front skid, whether that is Cali Raised's or the stock one.
- Fit the two carriage bolts through the crossmember holes, then lift the plate into place with a helper.
- Start every bolt by hand before tightening any, then fit both access doors with four bolts each.
- Tighten until the plate is solid, without over-tightening. If hardware will not seat properly, stop and ask rather than forcing it.
