Your lower control arms sit low at the front wheels, and on a rocky trail they take hits you never see. Clip a rock with one and you can bend the arm, knock the alignment out or damage the bushings and ball joint mounts. That is a repair bill, and on the trail it can end your day.
This lower control arm skid plate set is Cali Raised LED's protection for the 2025+ 6th gen 4Runner, and one of the simplest 2025 4Runner skid plate upgrades you can make. You get a pair, one plate for each side, so both lower control arms are covered. Each plate is precision laser-cut from 3/16" cold-rolled steel, formed to follow the shape of the control arm, and finished in black powder coat. It bolts to the factory mounting points with no drilling and goes on in 15 to 30 minutes with basic hand tools. Cali Raised build it to fit every trim.
Why Lower Control Arms Need Protecting
The lower control arm connects the front wheel to the frame and carries a lot of load. It also sits right where the front of the truck meets the trail. When you crawl over a rock, drop off a ledge or bounce through ruts, the arms are among the first parts of the suspension to make contact.
Rock Strikes
A rock catching the arm on the way past can bend it. Even a small bend throws out the alignment.
Ledge Drops
Come down off a ledge and the front end drops hard toward the ground, taking the arms with it toward whatever is underneath.
Trail Debris
Gravel and debris thrown up by the tyres chip away at exposed suspension parts, trip after trip.
Each skid plate puts a sheet of steel in front of its arm, so the plate takes the strike and deflects the rock. Cali Raised say it also helps extend the life of your suspension components by keeping damage off them in the first place.
Shaped to the Arm, Not in the Way
The plate is custom-formed to match the shape of the 6th gen's lower control arm. Cali Raised describe it as a shield-style design, with a full front plate and side protection to deflect rocks and debris.

A skid plate that rubs or limits suspension travel causes more problems than it solves. Cali Raised say this plate is designed to follow the contour of the control arm and give maximum coverage without interfering with suspension travel, other components or ground clearance.
3/16" Cold-Rolled Steel
The plate is precision laser-cut from 3/16" cold-rolled steel, often shortened to CRS. Cold-rolled steel is finished at room temperature, which gives it tighter dimensional tolerances and a smoother surface than hot-rolled steel. For a part that has to follow the arm closely and sit tight to factory mounting points, that accuracy matters.
This one is steel only, with no aluminum option. On a part this size, sitting right at the wheel where it takes direct rock strikes, steel's impact resistance is the right call.
The black powder coat resists corrosion and trail wear. On a plate that is designed to be hit, the coating will wear on the high spots eventually. That is the plate doing its job, and a touch-up with black chassis paint once a season keeps rust off.

Installation
Fitting a lower control arm skid plate is one of the quickest armour installs you will do. Cali Raised estimate 15 to 30 minutes with basic hand tools. The plate bolts to the factory mounting points using the included hardware kit of bolts, washers and lock-nuts, and step-by-step instructions come in the box.
- Support the truck safely. If you lift the front for access, use stands, not just a jack.
- Start every bolt before tightening any. Let the plate sit naturally on the mounting points, then tighten.
- Check the clearance. Turn the wheel lock to lock and make sure nothing contacts the plate.
- Re-check the bolts after your first trail run.
