Two Light Bars in One Housing
Cali Raised LED 43" amber and white dual function LED light bar, 28,000 lumens.
Most people buy a white light bar, then go shopping for an amber LED light bar six months later, after their first proper dust-out or fog run. This amber white LED light bar skips that step. It carries both colours in one extruded aluminum housing, wired so you can run white on its own, amber on its own, or everything at once.
That is the whole point of a dual function bar. Fog, dust, falling snow and rain all throw white light straight back at you, which is why your high beams make a whiteout worse rather than better. Amber cuts through it. Having both on the same bar means you are not choosing which conditions to prepare for before you leave the driveway.
A note on the length. You will see this bar listed as both 42" and 43" depending on where you look, including in Cali Raised's own catalogue. It is the same bar, same part. If you are measuring a mounting location to within an inch, call us before you order and we will confirm the exact overall length against the batch in stock rather than guessing from a listing.
Why Amber and White, and Not Just More White
This is the bit most listings skip, and it is the reason to buy a dual color LED light bar rather than a brighter single-colour one.
White light scatters hard off airborne particles. Dust, fog, snow and heavy rain are all clouds of tiny reflective surfaces, and a 28,000 lumen white bar lights every one of them up right in front of your eyes. You get a bright wall instead of a view down the trail. Amber light sits at a longer wavelength and scatters less off those same particles, so more of it carries through to the thing you are actually trying to see.
Cali Raised have also matched the beam patterns to the job rather than just tinting half the LEDs.
| Colour | Beam Pattern | What It Is For |
|---|---|---|
| Amber | Flood | Wide, close-in coverage in dust, fog, snow and rain. Lights up the trail edges and the ground immediately ahead without blinding you back. |
| White | Spot | Long throw down the trail on a clear night. This is your distance vision and your reading-the-corner-ahead light. |
| Both together | Combo | Full width plus full distance. The default for a clear, fast dirt road where you want everything lit. |
That matters because a plain amber LED light bar gives you one pattern and nothing else. Here you are not buying a compromise. It is not two versions of the same beam in two colours. Running amber only gives you a genuine flood pattern. Running white only gives you a genuine spot. Running both gives you a combo beam, which is what most people would otherwise buy as a separate bar.
Choose Your Wiring Before You Order
This decision matters more than any other on this page, because it determines whether you can actually use the two colours independently. Pick the wrong one and you have a 240W bar that only knows how to be fully on or fully off.
| Option | What You Can Control | Who It Suits |
|---|---|---|
| One harness | All lights on or off together. Amber and white always fire at the same time. | People who want a simple combo beam and one switch on the dash. |
| Two harnesses | White only, amber only, or all lights. Full independent control. | Anyone buying this bar for the dual function. This is the one we recommend. |
| No harness | Whatever you build. Bar ships with bare leads. | Builders running a switch panel, relay box or existing auxiliary circuit. |
If you are weighing up the first two: the two-harness option is what makes this an amber white LED light bar rather than a slightly unusual white one. It is worth the second harness.
The Three Wires on the Bar
Wiring With One Harness
Remove the plug
Pull the plug off the end of the harness. You will not need it.
Ground it
Connect the black wire from the LED bar to the black wire on the harness.
Combine the power wires
Join the green and white wires from the bar together, then connect that pair to the red wire on the harness. Both colours now fire from one switch.
Wiring With Two Harnesses
Remove the DT plugs
Each harness ends in a DT plug. Remove both, they are not needed for this setup.
Find your four wires
With the plugs off you will have two red and two black wires exposed across the two harnesses.
Join the grounds
Connect the two black wires together, then run that to the black wire on the LED bar.
Split the power
Run one red wire to the white wire on the bar, and the other red wire to the green. Each harness now controls one colour independently.
Two Things You Will Probably Need to Add
The OEM switch is not included. The wiring harness comes with its own switch, but if you want the factory-look switch that drops into a blank in your dash, that is a separate item from our switches range. Pick one per circuit, so two switches if you are running two harnesses.
The included brackets are universal, not vehicle-specific. They will mount the bar, but they are generic feet rather than something shaped for your truck. For a clean fit with no drilling into bodywork and no gap, Cali Raised strongly recommend their vehicle-specific brackets. Tell us your year and model and we will match the right ones.
How It Is Built to Survive
Extruded Aluminum Housing
Extruded rather than cast, so the housing doubles as the heatsink. Integrated thermal management pulls heat out of 24 LEDs without a fan to fail.
GORE Pressure Vent
A breathable membrane that equalises internal pressure as the bar heats and cools. Without one, a sealed housing pulls moisture in past its own gaskets every time it cools down.
Voltage Protection
Over and under voltage protection built in, so an alternator spike or a tired battery does not take the bar with it.
The lens is polycarbonate rather than glass, which is the right call on a bar mounted where stones fly. Polycarbonate takes an impact that would crack glass. The trade-off is that it will haze over years of UV exposure, which is normal on every bar on the market and is why plastic lens polish exists.
IP68 is the sealing rating, and it is the top of the ingress scale. In practical terms it means the bar is rated against dust, dirt and sand, and against submersion to 1.5m for up to thirty minutes. That is a water crossing rating, not just a rain rating.
LED lifespan is rated at 50,000+ hours. If you ran the bar for two hours every single night, that is sixty-odd years of service. In practice, the housing, the wiring or the truck will go before the diodes do.
About the 28,000 Lumen Figure
240W across 24 LEDs works out at 10W per LED, which lines up with the CREE emitters Cali Raised specify. The 28,000 lumen figure is a manufacturer rating, which in the lighting industry normally means raw LED output measured at the diode rather than light actually leaving the lens.
We have not independently tested it, and we would rather tell you that than quote it as gospel. Real output through a polycarbonate lens and an optic is always lower than the raw figure, on every brand. Treat it as a way to compare this bar against others quoting the same kind of number, not as a lab measurement. What we can say from the spec sheet is that the power draw and LED count are internally consistent, which is more than you can say for some bars at this price.

- Length is published inconsistently as 42" and 43", worth confirming for a tight mounting spot
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run the amber and white lights separately?
Only if you order two wiring harnesses. With two, you can run white only, amber only, or all lights together. With one harness, everything turns on and off as a single circuit. If independent control is why you want this white and amber light bar, take the two-harness option.
Why would I use amber instead of white?
In dust, fog, snow or heavy rain, which is the whole reason an amber LED light bar exists. White light scatters off airborne particles and throws glare straight back at you, which is the same reason your high beams make fog worse. Amber scatters less and carries further through the same air. The amber LEDs on this bar are also flood beams, so they light the trail edges and the ground close in rather than punching a narrow hole into the murk.
Is this bar 42 inches or 43 inches?
It is the same bar either way. Cali Raised publish it as 42" in some material and 43" in others, and it is one part number, not two sizes. If your mounting location is tight enough that an inch matters, give us a call and we will measure what is on the shelf before it ships.
Will the included brackets fit my truck?
They will hold the bar, but they are universal brackets, not vehicle-specific. Cali Raised recommend their model-specific brackets for a proper fit, and so do we. Universal feet usually mean drilling, shimming or living with a gap. Tell us your year and model and we will sort the right brackets.
Does it come with a switch?
The wiring harness includes its own switch, so you can get the bar working. What is not included is an OEM-style dash switch, the kind that fills a factory blank and looks like it came with the truck. Those are a separate item, and you will want one per circuit, so two if you are running two harnesses.
