Side projecting pods fix that. These throw light out to the sides rather than down the trail, which is why they end up in the ditch light position on so many builds.
Each pod runs 9 CREE LEDs at 27W for 2,500 lumens, with a beam engineered to cast light out to the sides rather than forward. Amp draw is just 2 amps per pod, so you can run them without worrying about the electrical system. They are IP68 rated with polycarbonate lenses and a GORE anti-moisture vent system that keeps condensation from forming inside the housing over years of heat cycles. Side Projecting, Not Forward Throwing
This is what separates these from a standard pod. Most LED pods concentrate their output forward in a spot or flood pattern. These are engineered to direct light out to the sides, filling in the peripheral area your headlights and forward-facing bars completely miss. That means the edge of the trail, the ditch beside you, the obstacle at your front corner, and your camp area when you are parked. Run them as ditch lights and you get genuine side visibility on tight trail sections rather than a slightly wider version of what you already had.

Without a vent, that pressure cycle pulls moisture past the seals and you end up with condensation fogging the lens from the inside. The GORE vent equalizes pressure while blocking water, so the interior stays dry through years of heat cycles.

Mounting
These pods are universal and work with all years, makes, and models. Most builds run them in the ditch light position, mounted at the base of the A-pillar where the hood meets the cowl, which is the natural spot for side-directed light.
